shul opening
The Government’s lifting of the lockdown this past Sunday did not change regulations affecting minyanim - they remain at 5 indoors/10 outdoors. However, what has changed is a) a great many of our shul members are now fully vaccinated and b) the determination by the pharmaceutical companies that the vaccines are largely effective against even the new variants [certainly the case with the Pfizer vaccine].
Consequently, the Board decided to reopen the Shul based on the following parameters:
-
Only shul members
-
Only shul members who are fully vaccinated
-
Only within the allowable regulations [5 indoors/10 outdoors]
-
Pre-registration will be required for every minyan.
The plan is to have full minyanim every day [shacharit, mincha/maariv]. The one change that will be instituted is that daily Shacharit will begin at 7:15am [used to be 7:45am].
The hope is that Government regulations will soon loosen up and allow us to move toward some sense of normalcy.
